Overview
Reference types label the external identifiers attached to stops — such as purchase order numbers, BOL numbers, or pickup numbers. Adding a permanent reference type makes it available across all orders as a reusable option in the dropdown.
Quick Answer: Go to the User icon → System settings → Configuration → Reference types → Add Reference, enter the name, and click the checkmark.

Before you start
You must have Admin access to add or change reference types. This option is not available to standard users.
How to add a reference type
Click the User icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Select System settings.
Click Configuration.
Select Reference types from the left side of the screen. The current list of reference types appears on the right.
Click Add Reference. A new empty line appears in the list.
Type the name of the new reference type.
Click the checkmark to save it.
The new reference type is now available in the dropdown when adding stops to any order.
Editing and deleting reference types
To edit an existing reference type, click the pen icon next to it, make your changes, and save.
To delete a reference type, click the delete icon next to it. Reference types can be deleted at any time.
⚠ Deleting a reference type removes it from the dropdown for new stops. Verify it is no longer in use before deleting.
