Adding new and editing commodities

Commodities represent the product or items that are being shipped from one location to another. Cargo types can vary widely and include goods like electronics, food products, building materials, machinery, chemicals, and much more. In 10 Speed TMS the cargo type can be specified in Bill of Lading or Rate confirmation documents. Cargo types will also be shown when creating or managing orders.

Note that cargo types are shown as an example. They are not added by default to the 10 Speed TMS.

  • There can be multiple cargo types:

    • If the carrier is not specifying the cargo type it can be put under Freight all kinds;

    • More specific cargo type such as frozen, or agricultural cargo can be added and specified;

Accessing the settings screen

  • To access Commodities window, press on the User icon at the top-right of the screen, and select System settings:

  • After pressing on it, a new window will pop up, select Configuration:

  • Press on Commodities:

  • Here the commodities can be edited, deleted or new ones can be added if needed;

  • To add a new cargo type press on Add cargo type and type in your preferred commodity:

  • To save the cargo type press on the check mark icon;

  • To edit the commodity press on the pen icon;

  • To delete the commodity press on the bin icon.
