Overview
Every order in 10 Speed requires at least two stops: a pickup and a delivery. You can add as many stops as needed — there is no limit. Each stop defines the location, load type, reference information, and appointment window.
Quick Answer: In the order form, go to the Route section, click + Add stop, fill in the stop details, and click Save.

Creating a new order — see How to add a new order
Creating new locations — see Creating new locations while adding stops
Adding permanent reference types — see How to add a reference type
Before you start
The order must already be open or in progress
You need at least one pickup and one delivery stop before you can save the order
Have the destination address, appointment dates/times, and any reference numbers ready
Stop types
Each stop you add must have one of three types:
Type | When to use |
Pickup | Where the load is picked up from the shipper |
Delivery | Where the load is delivered to the consignee |
Additional | Any stop that is not a direct pickup or delivery (e.g. terminal drop, return to origin) |
How to add a stop
In the order form, go to the Route section and click + Add stop. Fill in each field below, then click Save.
1. Select load type
Choose how the trailer is handled at this stop:
Live — the trailer is loaded or unloaded while the driver waits. Use for pickups or deliveries.
Drop & Hook — the driver drops the loaded trailer and hooks an empty one. Use delivery stop type for a consignee, additional stop type for a terminal.
Drop — the driver drops the trailer and leaves without hooking another. Use delivery stop type for a consignee, additional stop type for a terminal.
Hook — the driver hooks a trailer already on site. Use for pickups or additional stops.
2. Select destination
Choose a destination from the dropdown. Recent destinations appear at the top — start typing a few letters to search for a specific location.
💡 Need to add a new destination? See Creating new locations while adding stops.
3. Add reference type
A reference type links the stop to a customer's internal numbering (e.g. a PO number or BOL).
Select an existing reference type from the dropdown, or
Add a one-time reference type: click Enter new reference type, type the name (minimum 3 characters), and press Save
Enter the reference value in the field to the right (e.g. A-2563-HT5)
Click Add more if you need more than one reference type for the same stop
Click X to remove a reference type you don't need
💡 To add a permanent reference type for reuse across orders, see How to add a reference type.
4. Set appointment
Enter the scheduled time window for this stop:
Enter the start date and end date.
For a time window (range), toggle the interval option and enter both start and end dates.
Enter the start time and end time.
For a time window, toggle the interval option and enter both start and end times.
Click Save.
⚠ Appointment times use the local time zone of the destination. Double-check your entries if the stop is in a different time zone than your office.
Adding more stops
There is no limit to the number of stops on an order. If an order is returned or re-routed, add new stops for the return leg rather than editing existing ones.
