Overview

Leg information shows you the details of each segment of an order's route, including driver assignments, truck information, mileage, stops, and status. You can access this information directly from the order management screen to track progress, make changes, and manage your route planning.

Accessing Leg Information

Opening the Route View

  1. Navigate to the order you want to review

  2. Click the Route button to display the leg information panel

  3. The panel shows all legs for that order with their current status

When you open the route view, you'll see:

  • Leg starting point - where the leg begins

  • Leg finishing point - where the leg ends

  • Leg status - current state of the leg (see detailed status information below)

Managing Leg Stops

Reordering Leg Stops

You can change the sequence of stops within a leg:

  1. Find the stop you want to move

  2. Click the arrows on the right side of the stop bar

  3. The stop position changes automatically

  4. Repeat as needed to achieve your desired stop order

Example Use Case:

If you originally planned stops in order A → B → C, but the driver needs to visit B before A due to delivery time constraints, you can use the arrows to reorder them to B → A → C.

Advanced Leg Management

Splitting a Leg

If you need to divide a leg into multiple segments (for example, to assign different drivers or trucks):

  1. Select the leg you want to split

  2. Click the Split button

  3. Follow the prompts to create the new leg segments

Related: For detailed instructions on splitting legs, see how to split a leg in route planning

When to split a leg:

  • Changing drivers mid-route

  • Switching equipment at a specific location

  • Breaking a long haul into multiple segments for driver hours of service

Canceling a Leg

If a leg is no longer needed:

  1. Select the leg you want to cancel

  2. Click the three dots (menu icon)

  3. Select Cancel Leg from the menu

  4. Confirm the cancellation

⚠️ Important: Canceling a leg does not cancel the entire order, only that specific segment. Other legs on the order remain active.

Use case: You might cancel a leg if you've re-planned the route and this segment is no longer necessary, or if the customer has changed delivery requirements.

Important Notes

⚠️ Completed stops cannot be edited: Once a stop is marked as completed in the system, the information becomes locked to maintain accurate records. Make sure all details are correct before completing stops.

💡 Mobile access: Drivers can also view and update leg information from the driver mobile app, including updating stop statuses and adding notes or images.

Troubleshooting

Issue: I can't edit a stop

Cause: The stop has already been marked as Completed

Solution: Completed stops are locked to maintain data integrity. If you need to make changes, contact support for assistance with the specific situation.

Issue: Mileage doesn't look correct

Symptoms: The displayed mileage seems too high or too low

Possible causes:

  • Route calculation may need refreshing

  • Stop locations may be in the wrong order

  • Empty miles from previous leg affecting total

Solution:

  1. Check that all stop addresses are correct

  2. Verify stops are in the right order

  3. Hover over mileage to see empty vs. loaded miles breakdown

  4. If still incorrect, contact support with the specific leg details

Issue: Driver or truck information isn't showing

Cause: The leg may not have been fully assigned yet

Solution: Check that the leg status is at least "Preplanned" and that a driver and truck have been assigned during planning. If assignments are missing, you may need to complete the planning process.
