Adding new and editing driver pay types

Driver pay types can be determined and entered when recruiting a new driver. This article will explain all four types of driver pay.

  • Driver pay type can be assigned when creating driver asset. More information on how the driver asset is created can be found here.

Adding a new pay type

  • To select type, press on financials when creating new driver asset, firstly go to Assets and press on Drivers:

  • Press on create new driver. Then add the General and Employment information in order to proceed with the financial information:

  • When the information is filled out press on Next. Financial information has to be filled out where the driver pay has to be selected:

  • Driver pay per mile or Rate per mile (RPM):

    • When choosing this option the driver's pay is calculated according to the mileage of the order. Miles are depicted as empty or loaded. How empty or loaded miles are calculated can be found here.

    • Enter the amount per loaded and empty miles. After that press Save.

  • Driver pay per hour or Rate per hour (RPH):

    • Select the option per hour, enter the hourly rate, and press Save. The hourly rate is calculated when the order leg starts to be delivered. Meaning the number of hours that took to deliver the order is multiplied by the hourly rate.

  • Driver pay per day or daily pay:

    • Select the option per day, enter the day rate, and press Save. The driver pay per day is calculated when the order leg starts to be delivered. The day rate can be depicted by the company that the driver is under.

  • Driver pay as percentage or pay percent:

    • Select the percent option and add the details:

      • Pay percentage - the percentage calculated from the flat rate of the completed order;

      • Line Haul - the percentage calculated from the completed order baseline;

      • Fuel Surcharge - the percentage calculated from the completed order fuel surcharge;

      • Accesorials - the percentage calculated from completed order accessorial that were added;

  • During every step the tax classification has to be chosen from Individual or Corporation.

    • When selecting corporation tax classification further company details have to be entered:

  • When the information is entered press on Save.

Editing financial details

  • Go to Assets and select Drivers;

  • Select the driver and press on it, driver information will be presented:

  • Press on financials to edit the financial information.

  • Follow the same steps as adding new pay types in the following windows.
