Truck asset management

Accessing, adding and viewing truck asset

Truck asset is a set of information about a certain truck. Once created, these assets can be used for visual representation of a physical truck - where is it located, what order is it delivering right now or in the past, etc.

When creating a new truck asset, firstly, make sure that trucks create permission is enabled. This guarantees that users have the necessary access rights to initiate the asset creation process within the system. If permissions are not granted, ask your company admin for assistance.

Accessing Trucks asset

  • To access the asset, firstly go to Assets and then select Trucks:

  • The number 305 near the Trucks indicates how many active truck assets there are at the moment;

  • Trucks window will be shown, where the current trucks will be visible:

  • On the top of the screen the search bar is located, where the trucks can be searched;

  • The trucks can be filtered out if needed - select the needed filter - the results will be shown according to it:

    • Status filter;

      • Active

      • Inactive

      • In the shop;

      • In the shop on road;

      • At home;

      • Terminated;

      • Abandoned;

    • Carrier filter - select the carrier from the dropdown list;

    • Owner filter - select the owner from the dropdown list;

    • Driver filter - select the driver from the dropdown list;

    • Select if the filter should include the assigned drivers or not.

List view

  • Basic information about the truck will be shown:

    • Truck number;

    • Truck driver;

    • Make of the truck;

    • Year of the truck;

    • License plate number;

    • Date from which the truck is in service;

    • License expiration date;

    • Inspection expiration date;

  • The ! near the magnifying glass icon indicates that the inspection and license expires soon;

  • The list view can be customized if needed by pressing on the three-bar icon on the top-right side of the screen:

  • A new window will pop up where the list view can be edited:

Adding a new Truck asset

  • To add a new truck press on Add truck at the top-right of the screen;

  • A new window will pop up, enter the following information:

    • Truck number;

    • VIN code;

    • Year when the truck was made;

    • Make of the truck;

    • Truck model;

    • Color of the truck;

    • Enter the cost of the truck;

    • Select the APU type (APU is a supplementary engine or power source that is separate from the main truck engine. APUs are typically designed to provide various essential functions and amenities while the truck's main engine is turned off, such as when the truck is parked or idling):

      • None;

      • Battery;

      • Engine;

    • Enter the tire size;

    • Select the inspection expiration date;

    • Enter total mileage;

    • Select the features that the truck has:

      • Disc brakes;

      • Collision avoidance system;

      • Daycab;

      • Sleeper;

      • Smoker;

  • When the information is entered press Next:

  • Add the Operational details:

    • Enter the Operating Company;

    • Select the Fleet;

    • Select Terminal;

    • Enter the License number;

    • License State;

    • License Expiration;

    • Select truck ownership type:

      • Company;

      • Owner-operator;

    • Enter the Company or Owner-operator name;

  • Press Finish:

Viewing the Truck asset

  • The Truck asset will be shown in the truck assets list. To see more detailed information that can be edited press on specific truck;

  • To edit the information press on the pen icon;

  • To delete the truck or check truck logs, press on the specific truck and select whichever option is needed. The options are located on the bottom of the window:

  • Another way to view the truck asset is by pressing on the magnifying glass icon on the top of the screen:

  • After pressing on it, the information about the truck will be visible, with the map of the latest truck GPS location:

  • To view the maintenance details press on Maintenance:

  • To log maintenance press on Log Maintenance, a new window will pop up where the information about the repairs can be added:

  • To view imaging, press on Imaging:

  • To view notes, press on Notes:

  • To view logs, press on Timeline:
