Accessing, creating and managing inspections in safety dashboard

Trucks are pulled over by the DOT officers for the inspection often. To keep track of every single inspection and violation, an inspections dashboard was developed in 10 Speed. Information on how to access, add and manage inspections can be read about in this article.

Accessing inspections safety dashboard

  • To access the dashboard press on Safety and then press on Inspections:

  • Inspections window will be shown:

Adding a new inspection

  • To add a new inspection press on Add inspection on the top-right side of the screen;

  • Fill out the information about the inspection:

    • Select the driver from the drop down list;

    • Optionally select the truck;

    • Optionally select the trailer;

    • Enter the inspection number;

    • Select the inspection type:

      • Full inspection (level one)

      • Walk around (level two)

      • Driver only (level three)

      • Ticket;

      • Written warning;

    • Enter the inspection date and time;

    • Select by who the inspection was made:

      • Police officer;

      • Highway police;

      • State police;

      • Department of motor vehicles;

      • Manual entry;

    • Select the inspection state:

  • After the information about the inspection is filled out, press Save inspection. If there is a violation that occurred, press on the plus icon and add a violation information:

  • A new window will pop up, enter the information about the violation;

    • Select the violation target:

      • Driver;

      • Truck;

      • Trailer;

    • Optionally write the violation code;

    • Select the category and type of the violation - the category is different according to the violation target and category:

      • Driver:

        • Unsafe Driving;

          • Driving under the influence;

          • Failure to obey traffic control device;

          • Following too close;

          • Lane restriction;

          • Reckless driving;

          • Speeding 6-10;

          • Speeding 11-14;

          • Speeding 15 or more;

          • Seatbelt;

          • Unsafe others;

          • Using a handheld;

        • HOS Compliance;

          • Driving after 70 hours of duty;

          • Driving beyond 8 hours;

          • Driving beyond 11 hours;

          • Driving beyond 14 hours;

          • Driver failing to retain previous 7 days records;

          • Incomplete/wrong leg;

          • Failing to maintain ELD manual;

          • False log;

          • Other log/form manner;

        • Driver Fitness;

          • Cannot read or speak English;

          • Driving without a CDL;

          • Driving while CDL suspended/expired;

          • Medical certification;

        • Drugs/Alcohol;

          • Possession of alcohol;

          • Possession of drugs;

        • Non-Moving;

          • Unlawful parking;

      • Truck:

        • Vehicle maintenance;

          • Brakes;

          • Lamps;

          • Maintenance - other;

          • No/discharged/unsecured fire extinguisher;

          • Tires;

          • Windshield;

      • Trailer:

        • Vehicle maintenance;

          • Brakes;

          • Lamps;

          • Maintenance - other;

          • Tires;

    • Select the if the truck/trailer is out of service (OOS);

    • Optionally select if there was a ticket or not:

Viewing and managing the inspection

  • On the top of the screen, filters can be added to make the search easier - press on the Filters and add filters needed:

  • When the inspection is added, it will be shown in the list - to manage the inspection press on it:

  • The inspection can be edited by pressing on the pen icon on the top of the screen;

  • The inspection can be closed by pressing on the lock icon - then the changes to the inspection cannot be made;

  • To view a truck/trailer/driver press on the search icon near truck - the information about the asset will be presented.

  • To add a new violation in the inspection press on the plus icon and fill out the information;

  • To add a new financial (fine, court expense etc.) select the Financials tab and press the plus icon:

  • A new window will pop up, fill out the information:

    • Select the payment type:

      • Attorney fees;

      • Court fine;

      • Company fine;

      • Ticket fine;

      • Company bonus;

    • Select the charge type:

      • Immediate;

      • Weekly;

      • Monthly;

    • Enter the amount of the payment:

  • To add notes press on the Notes tab and press Add Note:

  • To add documents press on the Documents tab and press Add Document:

  • A new window will pop up - select and add the documents needed, then press Upload:
